About Spain
Spain has become one of Europe's renewable energy leaders, with wind and solar supplying over half of electricity and some of the lowest wholesale power prices on the continent. Coal power has effectively ended. The April 2025 Iberian blackout highlighted grid stability challenges of very high renewable penetration. Spain is also Europe's largest producer of olive oil, pork and citrus.
